Excellence in Education

Natchez offers parents four choices for the early education of their children.

With the public school district, there are also three private or parochial school committed to education.

Natchez-Adams School District

About 4,500 students, kindergarten through 12th grade, are enrolled in the system. Uniforms are required. The district employs more than 650 people; more than 270 are teachers.

Natchez High School

More than 100 classes are offered, including advanced placement courses. There are opportunities for honors, vocational, business, performing arts, home economics and foreign languages in addition to the standard courses of math, science, history and English.

Fallin Career and Technology Center

Fallin offers the following programs: Allied Health, Business & Computer Technology, Carpentry, Computer Systems Technology, Early Childhood Education and Services, Mississippi Cooperative Education and Vehicle and Mobile Equipment Mechanics. The school is located on the high school campus.

Central Alternative School

Central provides an alternative setting for students with discipline problems, those who are two or more years behind grade level or have other reasons related to social or personal development.

Robert Lewis Middle School

The school offers enrichment activities, remediation activities, mentoring, before and after school tutoring. Extracurricular activities such as football, band, choir and cheerleading are also offered.

Morgantown Elementary School

In addition to the basic educational curriculum, the school offers band, choir, physical education activities and art.

McLaurin Elementary School

Frazier Primary School

In addition to principal and assistant principal there are two physical education teachers and a gifted teacher. There is a full-time nurse available. The curriculum includes music and physical education.

West Primary School

Grades pre-K and K

Each class includes a teacher and teacher assistant. A full-time guidance counselor is present. The math and reading curriculum uses the research based Houghton Mifflin program. The curriculum also includes music, library, guidance and physical education.

ACCS provides a Christian-based education to students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12.

ACCS includes preschoolers in the learning process by emphasizing math, oral and perceptual skills. The elementary program is designed to improve children’s communication skills as well as teach the objectives of science, social studies and computer skills.

The high school curriculum is college preparatory. It includes English, advanced math, accounting, advanced sciences, computer, foreign languages, health, Bible, government, history, psychology, typing, speech, family living and bachelor living. Trinity Episcopal Day School is operated by Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchez. It serves students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12, striving to offer the highest level of academic excellence along with Christian education.

Curriculum includes foreign languages, advanced placement courses, art and others programs. The curriculum is accelerated at each level and Trinity offers several advanced placement courses. A full-range of athletic programs is available, including football, baseball, basketball, track and field and more.
